12 Hours
Electric School Bus and High Voltage Safety
FREE

What You Will Learn
The most important tool a technician has at his or her disposal is their brain. This course provides all the critical knowledge needed to identify and understand high voltage circuits on an electric school bus, and understanding the associated dangers when working on them so they can be avoided.
Course Format
- Online or In Person
Duration Course
- 12 Hours (Go at your own pace if online)
Course Topics
- Define what high voltage means in electric buses, and learn how to identify high-voltage (HV) circuits
- Gaining an understanding of the dangers to the technician when working with high voltage (HV) electric bus systems
- Description of required and recommended Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), why it is needed, and when it is required, including proper selection and inspection requirements
- Identification and understanding of high-voltage (HV) school bus systems and components
- Proper Digital Multimeter (DMM) selection (including test leads), categories, types and use
- Outline proper procedures to de-energize or “safe down” high voltage (HV) systems found on electric school busses
- Explain the operation of high voltage interlock loops and other critical safety systems used on electric school buses
